    G'day mate

    We also have 'em flying around our district, seeking the new shoots.

    Your pics show how hard it is to get a real-beaut-mate pic of them as they are always up the top of the tree or flying away from the camera!

      Thanks Phil, yes they seem to stay up high when wrecking the pine trees and eucalyptus trees. These ones are the endemic species which are only in south west WA. The red tails are actually called forest red tails. We have 3 species which are now on the endangered list: Forest Red Tails (subspecies "Naso"), Carnaby's and Baudin's. Sad that their habitat is being desecrated.

    I don’t see these very often, but they are around.

    My picks are #2 and 6. I particularly like the light in #6.

      Thanks Alan. Light was crap so happy to get them anyway. These variety's are only in south west of WA so the ones you see are different subspecies.
