  • Glossy Ibis

    This is another one from last year. I had previously managed to get a few shots, but always on poor light or against light. I finally managed to get a few shots in the morning sun from a hide at Eagleby Wetlands. I think this is only the third time one of the fixed hides has proved useful to me.

    Nikon D800, Nikon 500mm PF f/5.6. 1/2000 f/5.6 ISO 1800

      Thanks John. I’m very pleased with the lens and the camera still does well after more than 8 years. Having lots of pixels to crop makes a big difference.

    That's a special pic Alan. We don't see them where I live, we only get the white and straw neck variety. Man, they are an ugly looking bird - but I'm sure their parents think they are cute

      Thanks Isac. I never used to see them here either, but they have been around Eagleby fairly often over the last couple of years.
