  • More from Spicers Gap

Just a few more from the most productive outing for birds I have ever had.

    1. Eastern Whipbird wet after bath

    2. Eastern Whipbird shaking off water. One of those lucky shots. I was using slow shutter speeds because of the dark conditions and this exposure caught it vigorously drying itself

    3. Large-billed Scrubwren. My best guess on id. Corrections welcome.

Again, fabulous series Alan. All framed beautifully. Love the drying off after a bath.

We all have good days and bad days Alan so it's great to get a few keepers.

    G'day Alan

Thanks for a beaut collection of excellent images
#2 is special insofar as the water droplets go - how would it go in a nature comp??

ps- some exif data re: exposure & lens in use could be of interest to us fellow togs
(Edit- I've just see your other post where some exif data is preesnt ... suite me )

Thanks Phil. I got a bit lazy with the lens and exposure data. All with the D800 and Nikon 500PF wide open at f/5.6, shutter speed 1/250 or 1/320 and ISO ranging from 250 to 2000. It was quite shady with some hazy overcast varying the light. All need some noise reduction but i was a bit surprised noise wasn't more of a problem.

    A wonderful collection of images.

I was at The Australian Geographic photo exhibition and should make a post about it.
