    G'day all

a grab shot of nest making in progress ~ the flypast of a crow holding some grasses? in its claws

    1)

    exif- Panny FZ-200; shooting at 6 FPS with AF-C; 1/1300s x F5,6; EV minus 1,0; lens at 625mm FF equiv; ISO-100

    As always, feedback welcome

They look very good Phil. Seems to be a very capable camera given its age and small sensor. Capturing behaviour like carrying nesting materials adds interest over a standard flight shot. Capturing birds of this size in flight is always a bit more of a challenge than pelicans and egrets.

Yeah, pretty good shots Phil. Very capable camera and the operator seems very competent as well. In post I would lift the shadows and brighten it up a bit as well to show more detail in the bird. As you probably know, crows aren't an easy bird for most to photograph because they are pitch black so exposure has to be spot on OR this is where Photoshop (or similar) can be your friend. Crows have that beautiful bluish sheen to their feathers which is really nice. I had a play with #3 but it's not perfect as it's only a small low res image.

        G'day fellas

Yeah - agreed that the Panny/s deliver surprising results 'for their size'
Isac - as to lifting the shadows ... yeah, I try it from time to time but the result often seems to go 'gluggy grey' so I don't do much of it
