At the Lake

#1 - The lake at 18mm. Notice the log in the middle of the lake ...

#2 - ... zoomed in to 400mm to see the little black cormorant on the log.

#3 - My dog Charlie couldn't care less about the PB ducks, but what they leave behind seems to have some attraction to his sensitive nose.

#4 - Singing Honeyeater darting about in a Callistemon bush. They feel safe in there where it's dense and nice and dark.
There's heaps of these flying about and singing their little hearts out.

#5 - Just muckin' about. Little Black Cormorant showing off to a pair of Shellducks.

I always enjoy your lake images Isac. It may not be a large lake, but it certainly has a good variety of birds visiting. My local lake on the other hand has been lacking variety of late and I'm forced to drive to more distant locations to find any out of the ordinary water birds.
Just out of interest how far are you from the ocean/beach?

The 2x 'log' images showing the extent of the zoom are always beaut for comparison purposes (but mine goes a bit more than yours)

To Cottesloe and Fremantle 28km, Scarborough Beach about 38km.

We are lucky with the number of birds and variety Alan. The honeyeater is Australia wide but more in the West.

Thanks Phil - I really enjoy the lake, so peaceful and lots to photograph in such a small place. I do have the Canon SX-50HS which goes to 1200mm - so mines bigger than yours!

Thanks Isac, I was only interested as I don't recall ever seeing a pelican image from your local lake.
