  • Rufous Fantail

    I've been trying to get a decent photo of these for a couple of years but only see an occasional one and they're never still. Only managed to get grainy poorly exposed shots until I finally managed to get a couple of this one at Spicers Gap, Qld, last year

    Nikon D800, Nikon 500mm f/5.6 PF, 1/320 f/5.6 ISO 640

    That is a beautiful shot Alan. It struck a great pose for you. I do like the dark BG, makes the bird really pop. Great framing too, with perfect positive and negative space.

      Thanks Isaac. I got quite a few shots but most had one problem or another; these birds rarely sit still. This was the best of a couple of frames that weren’t blurred or an awkward pose.

      I know what you mean Alan. The honeyeaters at the lake are fast too so it's good to get some keepers.
