  • Great Egret

Unbelievable! Yesterday this Great Egret just stood there on a log about 30 metres from the edge of the lake. He wasn't bothered by me, the camera or Charlie! The light was OK I guess.

Today, I was back again and it was still there, same place, same log, same pose but completely overcast, dark and drizzly on and off - basically a horrible day.

Enjoying the social distancing. The Wood duck and Pacific black are risking it but our WA laws seem to OK with it.

This was at 18mm about 80 metres away.

The lake is full to the brim with all this rain we've had - good to see.

    G'day Isac

Wonderful to see you enjoying the beaut "superzoom" lens ~ the sort of thing I have enjoyed over the past 15+ years myself
For myself - after many SLR years with a bevy of separate lenses covering a 40x range from wide-angle to 1000mm tele for wildlife, to have it all (well most of it) in a single very useful lens, is wonderful

However - back to your pics ...
Yes - overcast - rainy - not very exciting days do not make our images all that great ~ colours are off, brightness & clarity suffer and our internal voice has a lot to say to us

The first 3 pics are more than okay for memories of a beaut walk-in-the-park ... keep 'em

    Phil

You're most kind Phil - thank you. I only have up to 500mm for my DSLR but I do have up to 1200mm with my Canon SX-50, so I might take that with me and see how it goes.
