  • coming in to land

    got this juvenile yesterday coming in to land above the bird bath.
    I had focus point to the right and I would shoot off a burst when it looked like they were going to fly. no panning involved just a lot of luck. needed to be somewhere where they would fly at right angles to the focus distance to keep sharp.
    the bird bath has been interesting watching whilst all the smoke been here and road closures preventing us going anywhere else. probably helps anticipate stuff like this. maybe we stay here
    and stalk the birdbath even after the roads open? d5 1/2000 f5.6 iso 6400 full frame vertically but cropped to 5x4

      Well done,caught him just right and the colour and sharpness really make this one jump off the screen.
