    nice portrait, focus looks a tad in behind the eye on the beak. Dof becomes more critical as you shoot closer. probably a little more head turn towards camera instead of away or even full profile would have lifted this. is this at pughs lagoon? I reckon I photographed the same ones there a while back. as far as getting the head turns or side ons, after you get these pix as insurance, you may make a small noise or something to cause the bird to turn head slightly. up close, the full profile will have eye and beak both sharp.

      Thanks Stephen, yes it was Pughs Lagoon. I wasn't so much interested in getting the perfect shot but just wanting to see how the new teleconverter worked. Point taken re getting the head turn.
