Good to see you back mate. They are truly a weird looking bird.
All great shots, but I think the last one is my favourite, stands out really nicely against the background.

    G'day Brad

A beaut collection - and I enjoy this bird in the wild whenever I come across them 'up north'
As with GJ - #4 stands out from the crowd

Cheers Phil. Definitely an iconic resident of the north. I have not so fond memories of them from my youth. They kept me awake many a night with their mournful calling.

Well done Ironwood! They are a very strange looking bird but have a loveable aura about them. Lovely lens by the look of the IQ. Good bokeh and I like #3 (even with the hose) and #4. Great detail and framing. Good to see you here, we've all missed you.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Thanks Isac. They have an aura all of their own alright. They live up to their name with those “stoned” eyes.
Yeah, pity about that hose. But they have become such an urban bird, so perhaps it’s fitting.

Cheers Kevin. The chicks were a bit of a surprise. No one knew there were chicks until we spotted them under the Peach tree.

SWMBO has been doing art for a couple of years now, acrylic, pastel pencil, pretty much everything except oils. She often asks me to print pictures for her to practice with. This is one she did of Ironwood's Curlew. I think that it's pretty good, but she thinks its carp (you know what I mean )

Thanks mate, she's not happy with the beak says it's the wrong shape. I'll tell her you like it, she'll be chuffed.
