  • Pelican incoming towards small-boaties boat ramp seeking a free feed

    G'day all

Another early morning walk around the beach - came across one of our boat ramps for small boats and the inevitable collection of "hangers-on"
Waited a few minutes and sure-as-eggs, in came yet another hopeful

    1)

    typical exif - Panny FZ-2500; 1/1000s x F4,3; ISO-200; lens at 250mm FF equiv

    2)

    3) and here's another 'hopeful' ~ dunno how he got on though - but I wouldn't have been in such a precarious location

    As always, feedback welcome
    Phil

I love the Pellie shots Phil. They're pretty slow moving and easy to photograph (IMHO). That big yellow and black eye is easy to lock focus on.

Can't beat a good pellie shot. Nice work on these Phil. The light wasn't kind to you but they turned out pretty good. I wouldn't be going fishing where that guy is!

good work on the pelican in flight, the bird on the ground adds interest too. bummer the 2nd one has the wing covering the face.
fisherman probably needs a bit more room behind him if you had it. feels a tad tight in the frame on that side

            Thanks Stephen

Good points - had chosen that image for the spread of flight feathers so hadn't noticed the hiding of the face. As to the fisherman - we see silly buggers all the time

Both the new images are better to me. The last one for sure, gives a better scale and gives a bigger stupidity level to the clown on the rocks.
