... is what it's all about! So they say, so I guess I agree with this shot of a red wattle bird that just snatched a quick snack which lasted a bout 5 seconds.

This is a bird box, way up high in a Laeliae Gum. These trees are only found in this part of W.A. which makes thempretty special.
This Pink and Grey Galah poked it's head out when I asked if anyone was home.

Nice catch with the Wattle Bird, their meals don`t last long.We have a lot of Gums around here so there`s plenty of nesting sites, usually way up high. The Swamp Hens big feet come in handy when they`re walking on the lily pads.A nice assortment of images.
    C+C,EDITS OK

Your kind comments are very much appreciated Kevin. We seem to have many Swamphens around here and they are friendly as well. I think the coots are related somehow as they have huge feet as well.

nice series. good action captured with the wattle bird also. I like the swamphen too decent angles help on this. one time I was laying at waters edge after something or other and one came up and was pulling on my bootlaces. let me get a ripper portrait cos of it though

Thanks Stephen. I was pretty rapt when I saw the moth. When I took the shot at 400mm, it just looked like a small leaf. Those swamphens are cheeky so and so's. Do you still have the portrait?

I eventually put 1000 pixel images at
    http://photography.avkomp.com/gallery2
you probably want the birds album or if you want to search, there is an icon under the cockatoo top left, and under the word gallery. which brings out more options when clicked. including search.

The decisive moment, wth a wattle bird!

I don't think we humans look as pretty when we're having a snack Hans.
