    overcast is not always your enemy. can help you a lot with white birds. you did well with these anyhow. light looks nice on the walking egret too. good work

      Thanks,had to up the ISO to get descent shutter speeds,hope the weather is kinder next weekend.

        I prefer overcast as do a lot of photographers - better than harsh sunlight. You did well with both of these Kevin. They are a graceful bird. We get them now and again popping in to visit our lake. Always welcome, they are good subjects. Higher ISO nowadays doesn't seem to be a problem with the latest hi-tech sensors.

          Nothing wrong with those. The angle isn't the most flattering for the bird in the first picture. It looks a bit foreshortened.
          Better a full bottle in front of me
          than a full frontal lobotomy.
