  • Cattana Wetlands

I found these wetlands about 10 minutes drive from where I was staying during my recent trip to Cairns. If I had known about them I would have packed my Siggy 150-600.
Not the best IQ as the longest lens I had with me was the Siggy 24-105.
All these images are cropped pretty heavily.

    #1 F4.0, 1/125, ISO 100. Siggy 24-105 @ 105mm.

Yeah, I know. Carry on is limited to 7 Kg, would have had to leave the second body and two lenses behind. No way am I putting my camera gear in stowed baggage.

I see your point John. I guess next time the missus will just have to exclude a lot of stuff to carry it for you.

I could have left the 100D and Siggy 17-70 at home as I didn't use them. However combined weight of them is only 920 gram and the 150-600 weighs 2.2Kg. I could have managed it if the missus traveled up with me, but she came a couple of days later as she had an unexpected emergency to take care of.

Not to bad considering the lens you had,I`m thinking about buying the Siggy 24-105mm next, looks like a good lens.

Thanks Kevin. I'm quite happy with the 24-105. I bought it a couple of years ago to compliment my 8-16 when traveling. I also have the Siggy 17-70 which is an excellent lens, a tad faster than the 24-105. All my lenses are Sigma and I quite like them, great value for money IMHO.

My carry on is 12kg and I only get into trouble occasionally Last time I flew Singapore out of Oz they made me carry the computer and camera in a separate carry on. Go figure Was alright coming home and in Europe. Another time was in South America. They weighed my carry on and said it was to heavy. I took out the computer and camera. Was ok then and I put them back in the bag. ??

I wish! That would probably cut my travel by a factor of at least three. No cattle class for me. Gets there at the same time and leaves enough for a bit more travel.

The only think I can think of is that you may not have hit the "Post" button at the bottom if was in "Comments" or the "Post Reply" button if it was a new post
