  • wedgetail being attacked by magpie 3

I really thought this was gonna be the wingspread shot, you can see the eagle fluffed up to repel the magpie inbound, but sadly this was about the extent of it
    d5 600f4 tc17 1/2000 f8 iso 1600. is about 85 percent of frame

That is a very unusual shot and worth a spot in National Geographic! Love the hair-do on the eagle. I find it strange that a huge beast of a bird is fearful of a small magpie and yet the magpies are terrified of tiny willy wagtails. Very strange to see that in nature.

Here's your free copy (and one for me!)

thanks mate. I relally liked this pic too. it always amazes me how large raptors take this sort of thing from other birds, but they all do. even noisy miners gang up on the owls and stuff, sometimes we here the commotion in the daytime and find the owl on a day roost.

You did have a good day. What a haul.

thannks mate. you dream of days like that. seriously mostly you may get a pic here or there, but this was going on for over 30 mins. plenty of time to ensure you exposures are right, you calmed down etc. even if you cock pix up, plenty of time to go again
