another of the eagle being attacked by a magpie. might whack on 1 or 2 more, but after you see the most drama, the rest are similar. cant be boring everyone.

Yeah! another great action shot. Isn't it great when this sort of thing happens and you just happen to be carrying your camera!!

thanks mate. the 600 isnt really the walk about lens, but it is ideal for the situation I found myself in with this eagle carry it to where you need it. is on tripod too mostly. it not a light combo and you cant be holding it pointed where you need it. with the wimberley head however you point it where you need and it stays there.I think I spent maybe 30 mins on this action focus on the eye of the eagle in case it did stuff.one eye on where the magpies were so you could get ready for an attack. burst mode too so you get maximum chance of something dramatic. exposure checked after first shot or 2 to see what histogram says. as far to the right as possible without blowing highlights gives you best noise performance. not that this camera has an issue but you dont want to underexpose anyhow. part of getting your raw files as good as possible

All good advice Stephen, thank you. I only have a 500 siggy but with the shoulder/sling strap, the weight is hardly noticeable.

Great shot. Obviously worth the weight. Not that I would like to take it on holidays with me.

is not your walk around lens of choice but have done so. as I get older and weaker I carry the 200-500 f5.6 for walk around. ways nothing overall.

thanks for the kind words everyone
