Conditions aren't exactly right to chase these guys girls today, so thought I'd post a couple from this time last year.
(I'm sure ƒ8 would've been better but with the heat of the moment and freezing fingers, it didn't happen )

Nice clear images there Gaz. Even though the background is a similar colour the birds are detailed and sharp enough to stand out, well done.
I think f5.6 was the way to go, it gives a softer BG. Some people may suggest cloning out the "twig" near the bird's left leg (1st image) and right leg (2nd image), but I don't have a problem with it. It's a nature shot and that's the environment it was in. Just my opinion

Agree with John there Gaz. F5.6 seems to have done the job well. Sharp subject and enough differentiation against the background to make them stand out.
#1 seems to have some vignetting.

good work on these. look a lot better than the male you posted the other day too. I was wondering about the light on him, not withstanding the light was right on him and possibly a bit harsh, there was something I cant quite put finger on, I wonder if perhaps the male wasnt a bit dark and had some shadow/ highlight on him?

Like a few here, I'm getting a bit lazy when it comes to cloning (Lift ya game, Gaz! )

Oh, I've just realised, I must have 'flipped' one of those images...that 'twig' you speak of is facing a different way in each image.

I had another look at the male and doesn't look too bad viewing the larger file. Still, I'll have a quick play with it hoping to improve. Cheers.
