  • striated thornbill

    this guy was calling in a tree near the house.
    there was quite bright light falling on background so the camera was going to underexpose,
    I added +2/3 ev to the exposure and it was about right

    d5 600f4 tc17 (1000mm)
    1/400 f8 iso 1600. is about 1/4 frame. was doing some image quality tests

          thanks for the kind words. you get used to how your stuff works under different conditions, posted this as example of what you may do under back lighting conditions. back up some comments made on another thread. (not that anyone takes any notice of course)

            I really value those kind of insightful comments and critiques Stephen.
            There are some that just want a "good job" pat on the back. I much prefer constructive criticism.

              blowing sunshine doesnt help anyone improve, much better to call them as you see them.
              also, if you get advice from someone who may have experience in an area, it helps you to improve as well.
