After my recent attempts at bird photography I can only imagine the amount of time you've dedicated to your photography.

Thanks John. I'm lucky that the lake is only 300 metres from my door and we have a good variety of birds now, mainly because of good rains this year leading in to summer. I've had better results with the birds since I got the Bigma - it performs really well for a cheaper lens. I set my C1 for birds in flight and now use similar settings for stills as well just with single shot mode.

First thing first. I think the stunningly beatiful Ibis is a candidate for the ugly bird selection.The photographer assisted a lot with his good looks here. You are indeed fortunate to have such a ready supply of models to take advantage of. They in turn are lucky to have someone as capable as yourself to display them.

Well thank you for that Hans. I feel a bit humbled by your kind words. I do love photographing these birds at the lake, they are extremely cooperative subjects which makes it all the easier for an amateur such as myself.
As far as the Ibis' are concerned, I can hear them now - at one of their tool box meetings, discussing how grossly unattractive we are to them. Cheers, Greg
