  • Rainbow Bee Eater chasing ground-level insects

    G'day all

On many of my pre-brekky walks I have noticed these delightful birds flittering around a 100m stretch of the walkway - so I decided to position my mobile bird hide somewhere close and try my luck. 3 visits each about an hour long, heaps of 'almost sharp' pics, until I finally cracked it via upping the shutter speed from 1/1300 to 1/2500s

    As always feedback welcome
    Phil

Well caught Phil and worth the "hide". A little dark on the head, other than that, a wonderful BIF shot!

I just fired myself from cleaning my house.
I don't like my attitude and I caught myself drinking on the job.

Awesome Phil. I dream of getting a capture like this. A little dark on the head as mentioned but amazing job.

I know how difficult this is as I was trying to catch a bird in Africa. Well done and what a beautiful bird it is.
