The light wasn’t particularly kind for you with the Wattle bird but I like the way you’ve caught it in #3. A different species to what we normally see here. Are they just as aggressive to other birds?

I like the back-lighting on the kookaburra Isac. The twigs and the lighting are a problem in the wattlebird shots. I like the posein #3 but the last would be the best if not for that branch in front. It shows off the wattle, eye and patterns on the back. If only these birds would pose in the open for us

Agree about the backlighting on the kookaburra. That's nice.

Doesn't the Kookaburra look intelligent? Lovely!

Oh they are really intelligent Hans. Thanks for looking. It was sitting there watching a bug crawl about on the branch next to it, probably thinking, "I'll just wait for his mates to rock up so I can have a smörgåsbord.

Light was crap at 10am Greg so I took what I could get while I was being walked by my dog. Because of the messy trees, it's never easy to get a shot of the wattles - or any others for that matter, so reasonably happy. I haven't seen them being aggressive (as yet).

Thanks wigz. Never easy to get the kookas just right because of the amount of trees, I thought I was lucky to get that close. I was going to clone out the branch in #5, but had more pressing matters to attend to, so that's why I threw in the caption "Now you can't see me!"

Cheers Todd. Sometimes it works. At least I got most of the detail. I will be keeping an eye out for them. My dog walks me there every day.

Question - if you cloned out the branch where would you get the missing detail from to fill in the bird's head?
