Kookaburra at home

This beautiful bird came right up to where Graham and I were working this afternoon to grab a grub in the freshly dug up earth. Then it was eyeing one off right next to where I was standing, so I grabbed the grub and threw it to the bird. It then found another before flying up to the roof of the cubby house. The closest we've ever had a kookaburra come to us here at home.

Agree with avkomp about the BG. good focus on the eye. I snuck up on one that was just picking off bugs on a park lawn and got some cool shots. They do seem friendly nowadays.
