    Love these birds.

Printed this on A3, my first bird image print and it came up a treat.

Pretty excited about having a printer folks

(looks a bit soft on upload but it's sharp as a tack on paper)

They are beautiful birds and this image shows it off nicely. I like the placement in the frame and the background is nice and smooth. I've never been game to buy a larger format inkjet - I doubt if I would use it enough and ink always seems to be a problem. Luckily we have a few labs around here that seem to do good quality photographic and inkjet prints.

Great image Mick. A bird I'm desperate to photograph.

I might be inclined to reduce the reds in the b/g a tad so the colours in the bird stand out even more.

But you say it looks a treat on paper, so you don't want to go experimenting too much on A2 format . I assume you run test strips first.

            Have fun

Do we all get an invite to the opening night?

Printing has been a goal of mine for quite some time, like its the last stage in the process. I have a few orders from friends that should just about cover the cost of the printer so buying was almost a no brainer for me. Plus the local printers do not have a photographic background and their work does not impress me much. Such a thrill to see an image of mine rolling out of the printer, it's like ok, now the image is finished. Good fun.

Thanks for that Alan, I agree about the reds, now that you've mentioned it. Only printed on A3 so not too expensive a mistake...*sigh*

If I'm feeling confident I don't bother with a test print...might have to rethink that bit

It's only about $10 for ink and paper to print a sheet of A2, that's cheap as long as not too many are rejects. I'm cool with that cost level and am assuming once I get the hang of this printing game mistakes should be far and few between. But baby steps first...

Everyone on the planet is welcome on opening night. (Cheque or card is ok but cash prefered)
