    Alan W was lamenting the paucity of bird photos lately - I though we were doing ok

    Goodness gracious Alan ...

    what a great collection of images - esp #4& #5 ... action in the air pics
    You musthave the little blighter specially trained to jump when asked, and fly just at the right time too

      what a great series of images with a variety of poses. I like the blurred wings in the in-flight shots giving the impression of motion.

        That's impressive. For some unknown reason I am particularly drawn to number two. It is probably the composition more than the bird in that shot.
        Better a full bottle in front of me
        than a full frontal lobotomy.

          Thanks Hans - I think that crest is related to a territorial display. Someone may enlighten us.

              Thanks Phil,

              He had a nest in an earth bank just outside our window. The window had reflective film on it and he was constantly fighting his reflection.

              The 'in flight' photos were taken from inside the house, through the window as he flew at it. I eventually had to hang a sheet over the window as I thought he would wear himself out.
