    Some nice shots there Alan. I find #4 particularly striking. The light hasn't helped today's shots, and the backgrounds look a little busy - although they're actually pretty good, but I can't help but compare them to the older shots.

      nice series. I see you pressing the grass tree into service again. good details etc but I reckon the dark bit top left draws the eye out of the frame.
      I think well worth cloning out the dark bit in the second one, would lift the shot a lot imho. third is a good shot as presented. like it
      extreme closeup is nice too, good work, but wondering if it isnt a tad tight in the frame at front
      the square crop works well on the 2nd last
      and finally, I like the habitat shot in the last one. well done.

          All good. I like the 3rd one the best, ironically using the 1.7x which I could never get to work well so got rid of it
