Australian Kestrel or Nankeen Kestrel (Falco cenchroides)
A couple more from a camping trip last year. I heard an unusual bird call, went looking to see what it was and saw these. Only managed a couple of shots from too far away; they didn't oblige with a repeat performance. While I'm very pleased to have it, the first one is really too small for anything except the web or small print. The second shot of the female was taken a bit later and taken from closer. I've included the full frame to show the crop.
D800, Sigma 120-300 + 1.4x TC, 1/1600, f/5, ISO 180
Nikon D800, Sigma 120-300 + 1.4x TC, 1/1600, F/5, ISO 250. Heavy crop
