A hearty lunch

High in the rafters with not much light, I was testing the friendship with my Sony/Sigma outfit. But I do like these little birds as messy as they are!

We don't seem to have many around here ... can remember seeing lots as a kid ... especially up under the eaves or in the sheds.

Lots of them around here, although not around the house any more. I've found them very difficult to photograph though. Good capture with the meal given the lack of light.

Have a few that never left during winter this year. Must have been able to find food.

I agree, lovely cheeky birds and beautiful to photograph.
Looks like it's collecting some nesting material.

set yourself a tough target in the light by the looks of it. probably did as well as you could under the circumstances
