I can see how they earned their name.
Would love to come across these in the wild.
I imagine they wouldn't hold still for a second. I like the pose and that you have a pair.
The background is really quite distracting to me. I suspect you have already done a Gaussian blur so can't offer any constructive advice on a fix.

Thanks Jo. There is a flock of these on the local headland and they are real fidgets and spend a lot of time on the ground or hiding in bushes if disturbed.
The b/g was even worse before I reduced the bright greens and yellows and yes, I did apply some lens blur, but too much and it starts to look unnatural.
I was just pleased to get a photo at all with the Tamron. I should go back with the Nikon and a tripod and more patience - it's only a short walk.

we got lots of those things around here. mostly by the bike track though and lots of people go by.
