Great portrait Alan. That yellow eye is very intense. Detail is very good as well.

Nice shot Alan. Love the detail you have been able to capture in the black feathers, and what they said about the eye
        Cheers, Brad.

          Thanks

I was waiting for a few things to come together. It's sitting on an unattractive bird feeder, hence the crop

I think Alan that your bird feeder may need a bit of a tizzy up or even seriously consider a complete upgrade. Here are a few ideas which you will fall in love with and some can even be manufactured by a good DIY person as yourself, for a mere pittance. As you have mentioned on many previous ocassions, you seem to spend a lot of time looking out of your window into your backyard, so I'm sure the window box with suction caps will tickle your fancy.

Some are not my 'cup of tea', but thanks for doing the research Greg. I think I need to lift my game in the bird feeder department

Thanks, even shooting through a window it still does ok for an old camera. I think I over-exposed this one a bit, so I had some latitude to bring it back a tad in RAW.

Background is a bit noisy I just noticed. The joys of bird photography...
