During the recent eastern coast low weather system, our local beach was also pounded by storm surge, high winds, rain and just plain nasty weather. Sand dunes were washed away with a lot of destruction and damage. One bright thing however was that the wreck of the Zephyr was uncovered, which happens periodically. It sank whilst sailing from Hobart to Melbourne in 1852 or close (my memory ....).
Anyway Peter and I went down to view the wreck, there were quite a lot of pacific gulls wheeling and whizzing around, I caught this one just skimming the wreck, I rather liked the bird's expertise.
