  • Skimming the Zephyr

During the recent eastern coast low weather system, our local beach was also pounded by storm surge, high winds, rain and just plain nasty weather. Sand dunes were washed away with a lot of destruction and damage. One bright thing however was that the wreck of the Zephyr was uncovered, which happens periodically. It sank whilst sailing from Hobart to Melbourne in 1852 or close (my memory ....).
Anyway Peter and I went down to view the wreck, there were quite a lot of pacific gulls wheeling and whizzing around, I caught this one just skimming the wreck, I rather liked the bird's expertise.

Well captured Jenne. Lovely photo, framing, detail and natural ocean colours are a delight to see. I reckon it would be great to discover a shipwreck on the odd occasion.

Lovely capture Jenne .... perhaps the bird was just checking to see how cold the water was ..... a bit like dipping your toe in

A lovely quality to this photo. A relaxed feel, as my eye wanders about, and yet it possesses an energy. Satisfying combination.

My indecision is final, I think.
