Took a picture f this little fellow in Africa. Closest I can find is a pintail

Better a full bottle in front of me
than a full frontal lobotomy.

What a tail! I think it's a
Magpie Shrike (Corvinella melanoleuca).
We have a Chineses (or Golden) Pheasant at Kaaeakin and it's tail is 2/3rds of it's body length just like your Magpie Shrike.

You are so right. Easy to find when you have a name. I must have looked at a few hundred bird pictures without seeing a magpie shrike.
