    That's a great shot, good detail and sharp, catchlight in the eye, what more could you want. The diagonal with the bird also looking down works really well.

          Wonderful - yes, that's the word that springs to mind.

          If I was being picky I'd like a bit more space on the LHS and a bit more space all around - just seems a bit tight to me.

          That seems silly to say, when for me, it's impossible to get an well lit, in focus, BIF anywhere near to filling the frame - ok - I'll pull my head in - carry on

            Thanks for the comments Mark and Alan.

            I agree it's tight in frame and needs more room on the left. Generally speaking I find that a bird should occupy no more than 75% of the space top to bottom so I've broken my own rule here.

            Might add some canvas to this one.
