  • Tawny Frogmouth

My first time finding one of these to shoot. Booked into a caravan park in Armidale with lots of bird photographs in reception. When the lady asked if there was anything else she could help with I said she could tell me where to find Tawny Frogmouths. She looked perplexed but as soon as I pointed to the photograph she took me outside and pointed to a nearby tree telling me there was a family there. She was right.

Can't complain with that level of service.

    Nice work Gabby.

I've never seen one that I can recall. I love the framing on #1 and the look on the bird in #2. They look adorable little creatures. Thanks for sharing.

Great. #1 is by far the best - eye contact really draws you in. I have been looking for one for years to photograph.

What a great opportunity, I have seen these birds before but have never photographed one.
I'm with Isac and Barkly, #1 closely followed by #2.
          Cheers, Brad.

Thanks everyone. I read somewhere that if surprised they close their eyes - luckily it seems the young ones haven't as yet got that skill. As they blend so well with their surroundings, I'm sure most of us have walked past some without noticing.
