  • Some common birds

which shared the caravan park we stayed in while doing a towing course. I've never managed to photograph the rosellas before - usually only spot them flying up into the trees if travelling down a country road. Pity it wasn't better light. The others were quite happy to hunt within range of my 18-200.

Those parrots are pretty, bit different to the common ones in Tassie.

    Good shot of the Maggie.

Pale headed Rosella are usually very shy. I have only a couple of average photos of them, so well done.

Crested Pigeon looks good with the low viewpoint chosen.

Magpie crop looks a bit tight. Pity the light wasn't kinder to you.

      Lusting after a longer lens?

Thanks Greg and Alan. I've always wanted to get a shot of the rosellas - will keep trying to better - they just wouldn't co-operate and come out in the good light.

I've had a couple of cracks at getting close to those rosellas with a 400mm lens and failed...well done.
