Seem to be taking over from the 'noisy' variety on the Gold Coast. Is that the case elsewhere?

G'day mate
While the Aussie Noisy Minor is regarded as an aggressive- nesting bird, it is left behind by the Indian ferals
The damn things are [almost] everywhere
I have seen them attacking galahs in tree trunk nests till they kicked them out - sad to watch but they didn't let up till it was all-over-rover
In WA they have setup a monitoring crowd of farmers along the SA - WA border with various methods for their disposal should they ever arrive there
ie- WA does not want the little buggers over there

Thanks for the info Phil. Haven't spotted them in Tassie yet but have heard some reports. The Noisy Minor isn't common here either.
It's interesting that some of the northjern parrot species which were very rare in Tassie over the winter months are now becoming more previlant all year round. You have to wonder whether they are starting to shift camp away from the invaders.
