Nice timing! all sorts of action going on Greg...you'd have to be happy with that?

I've been trying to do something similar for the past few months with a Willy Wag-tail that visits everyday, but nothing close to this yet.

What if there were no Hypothetical questions?

Good shot, especially getting the insect as well and aptly named.

Pretty happy.. no-where near perfect of course, but I had a bit of fun trying to get the shot. Every night there's been an insect hatch around 6pm around a flowering gum outside the front of my house. The birds just go crazy for a little while leaping up out of the tree and off the power wires catching the bugs. It's totally random and you've got no idea where they are going next!

I used a manual focus setting guessing about where the birds might be. Set shutter on 1/1250, ISO 1600, then sighted over the top of the lens barrell and shot on burst. This is the only shot I was prepared to show as I cut bits off the birds or missed in all yhe others!
