I have a few shots of them, but only as they are walking away
Yes, they are difficult critters to capture with their run-stop-run approach to life. This was the only keeper from a frustrating mornings effort. Cheers Alan.

Very good photo Mick. They do tend to be a bit camera shy on most occasions. Lovely framing too. I guess I was a bit lucky when two of them at our local lake, decided that they were not in any imminent danger from the guy who was pointing what looked to be a bloody great canon at them.I Shoot A Canon

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Cheers Greg. The only way I've found to get shots of small shorebirds is to lay still and just hope they walk over for a look. Bit of sneaky creep on the elbows when I reckon they ain't looking helps but patience is the key. This one frame is the result of about 2 hours of laying on the ground over a two day period.
Not a great return for effort but these days I find laying down easier than walking.-----------------------------------------------------
