  • Well who needs a mansion?

    Stone Curlew on the nest, the two sticks are the boundaries of the nesting site, there is one immediately under the birds head and another under its tail. Amazing camouflage, and the bird just sits there, I almost drove over it with the mower. Full frame straight from camera Click image for larger version

    glad you managed to spot this one before it got mowed. loving the low angles in these shots. cant beat the details in a full frame shot either. well done

      Yes I recognised her being on a nest so I give them a wide berth for a couple of weeks. Its amazing I can approach really close to her and she just lies doggo until the very last minute, Has much more faith in human nature than I have.

    So glad you spotted this. She looks quite worried as I would be too with that noisy machine coming ever closer. Lovely detail on the feathers and hope if there are eggs you get some pics of the chicks as well.
