This King Parrot knocks on my window every afternoon to tell it's time for dinner.

He is so tame I can put the Coolpix within a few inches of him, (PS helped to tidy it up a lot - and yes, the intense reds leave a bit to be desired)

Stunning birds and lovely photos of it. Wish I had your PS skills Alan. The lorikeets peck on my window when I don't fill the bird feeder - which I want moved so I can get a decent photo of them.

I am sure that bird was trying to hypnotize me with its intense gaze.
Do you battle with "where to cropitis?" I know I do..to leave in the tail, feet or hone in on the face is often a dilemma for me.

It's always the first decision for me, and as such, I think it is the most important part of PP

On the Bird Forum you may have seen discussions about this.

Some people stick with standard ratios (possibly for printing/framing purposes). A post of a square crop is not common.

The preference is to include all the bird - but CU portraits are ok too.

It's just that middle ground, where one has cut off/missed just a bit of the bird that feathers get a bit ruffled

My theory is, 'If you can't hide it, make a feature of it'
