    Each of these images has its flaws, but these are my first images of this species.

    There's nothing wrong with these Alan. #1 is my favorite. Beaut eye contact, and the background has a nice flow.

    Maybe just a bit more contrast?

      Both good images and show the bird's colouring and detail well. I actually prefer #2

        Thanks sejac and P Plates. I agree they could do with a slight increase in contrast. What I don't like is the out of focus leaves and twigs in front of the bird in the first, and the second isn't quite right at the base of the tail due to cloning out a twig across the body.

          Think your captures of this sweet bird are terrific given the environment.

            ROF you are worse than me for picking holes in photos; good in a way but most of us would not notice if you don't say anything. Next time sneak in and remove the offending foliage lol

            like you said ''first images of this species" so don't be so hard on yourself
