  • Black Honeyeater?

Not sure about ID on this one at all.

Captured near Marble Bar. I thought the rocks and shadow gave this a nice feel.

    Hi Mick,

Very nice lighting on the bird and the pose is good with good separation from the background. Excellent shot but I find the shadow behind the bird's throat just a little distracting.

Thanks Alan. I captured a number of frames but this is the best with regards to shadows I'm afraid.

I was hoping she would move into better light but no such luck and there's a limit as to how long I'm prepared to lay on river rocks lol.

I see what you mean, having a black-pit-honey-pit-eater on the rocks does give it an interesting context.

Ha, yes I can see that Michael. She's actually in a dry creek bed surrounded by tall gum trees and flowering shrubs right next to a large body of water. Perfect location.
