    I really like both these shots for the capturing the action of a bird taking off, great photography

      The first is another stunning shot. I like the way the wings and neck are stretched in opposite directions across the frame. You have done very well with these swan shots.

          thanks folks,
          isnt taking off, just a bit of a wing flap.

          you need to keep your eye on a swan in a likely position and wait.
          they usually telegraph the wingstretch but extending the neck so you let them have it.
          if they follow thru, there is a good chance you get the shots
