  • Blue Wren in a strange place

This little fella jumped onto the external mirror of my vehicle and just couldn't get enough of itself in the reflection. Obviously a male looking for a mate. I had the trusty P&S and snapped away merrily and the bird did not notice me at all.

I'm fed up with the quality of this P&S so I'm getting a Canon SX50.

Nice behavior shot. More like a territorial display (another non-existent male), than a partner seeking display though I think. He is so Blue

Thanks Alan. It is a male and they get really blue in colour when trying to attract a mate. But you already knew that!

Totally adorable, even if the bird is a bit narcisistic.

Oh I know how he feels. I get upset every time I see myself in a mirror.

He flipped up and down for at least 3 minutes. Beautiful to watch and so close. I didn't want to move too much in case he took off. I'll be back there soon I hope with a better camera.

An absolute joy to watch P Plates - within arms reach, I saw a lot of detail not captured with my lousy P&S. That's why I just bought the new Canon SX50.

Thanks Jo. I suppose if I was that gorgeous, I'd be the same.

Mick, I'm sure that's stretching it a bit. Every time I look into a mirror I ask "What did you do with Isac?"
