Mick's budgie flocks have been beautiful.

Apparently Alice Springs is experiencing Budgies in Bulk too

The flock I witnessed was only about 300 and I was mesmerised, can't imagine what it would be like to see them numbering in the thousands. Thrill of a lifetime!

I'm heading back to the river tomorrow to hopefully encounter them again. Good times.

Love that link. Brought back my memory of budgies filling the skies near Southern Cross in the early 80s.
Seeing the massive flocks streaming across the skies making their collective sounds was amazing. It totally caught me by surprise like I thought all budgies lived singlarly or in pairs in cages.

I was at byrock many years ago and a flock like this came in to drink. most amazing thing I ever saw.
no camera with me at the time either

Have had a look and a read .. Pretty awesome stuff. I'm still gobsmacked at the amount Mick saw let alone the bunch that other guy saw. I watched the video and I wonder if the birds say 'hey we're just going around in circles mate'.

I wonder if scungy people think .. now if I can catch a few of those budgies and make a bit of $$.
