    Different for certain....

I can understand the figure being in front of your son and daughter, but not behind. Shadows are good though...double exposure?

    Sorry to be thick...

With camera on tripod, a shot of the figure on a gray board to match the pavement. This is for the shadow and background. Remove the figure and the gray board. Then get the people to stand in the right spot. This is for the people, their shadow. and the background. Two layers in Photoshop and just erase what the gray board covered up. Then finally erase the area to allow the people to come through. Everything is real, the shadows, the lighting because its all shot outside under the same conditions at the same time. Pretty easy actually.

Wow, that is complex, but the result is well worth the effort,,,,

Here is the same principle but with a 1:6 scale Indian motorcycle.

When I shot the motorcycle I used a white board figuring Id just use it for the shadow and then in Photoshop Id make that layer Multiply. But its better to use a gray board that closely matches the pavement. And the small anvil is to keep the board from flying up if a gust of wind comes along.

I like your enthusiasm and technique for getting the perspective right and the shadows make it come to life. Well done - I'm a fan!
