  • Experimenting with IR - take two

Many years ago I purchased a Hoya R70 infra red filter to use with my 7D. I lost interest in it because of the long exposure times needed to achieve a half decent exposure. The other day I decided to try it out using my R6 mirrorless and to my surprise I was able to achieve reasonable hand held images even though quite high ISO settings were required

#1 This is an enhanced noise reduction image with the profile set to Infra Red in ACR.Click image for larger version

Thanks for the kind words Alan.
As mentioned it the closed post I'm on a very slippery slope, but I'm pretty sure that I'll enjoy the ride.

All I can say is they are very different. Good to have a go and get different results. Do you have originals so we can see what you started with?

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

I've never done IR in camera so it's good to see what comes out. Not only Infrared but great if you are INTO red
I can see you would have some fun playing with all sorts of filters.
    Working...
