  • Under the Bridge

A bit of experimenting with long exposure.

#1 I placed a B/W version of the image above a colour one and painted in the taillights on some scooters that passed by as I took the shot.

#1 is interesting but has a bit too much empty foreground for my taste.
I like the rich colour, texture and depth of #2.

Thanks for the constructive feedback Alan. Yes, foreground in #1 is devoid of interest, not much that I can do about that now.
Next time I'm at this location I'll shoot from a much lower angle and get more of the roof, which is pretty interesting.

After Alan's comment about the empty foreground I revisited this shot and did a bit of a crop.
I think that the image is much improved now, thanks for the feedback Alan.

I like them both. Different elements to make the eye wander, which I like. The first one had that brilliant starburst on the right which matched up to the one on the left and the pillar on the right helped with the rule of odds. Am I being too pedantic??

I like 'em both as well Isac, however I think that the crop is a stronger image.

I would probably agree with you John - If I hadn't seen the first image

It is interesting on the 1st B&W and 2nd on how it has been reworked and just what we are individuals see a shot.
I am going with the 1st over all and for me it looks like the reworked shot looks a little crammed in for my personal liking.

Thanks for the feedback Ralph, you make a geed point about it looking crammed in. I'll have another look at it.

A different take on this image. Thanks Ralph, I think this is looking much better.
