Cool stuff Alan. Every dog owners dream. I do think IMO that the poodle could be larger on the cover. And let the text "run over" the dog a bit.

I see where you are coming from, but I was just trying to stay reasonably true to the 'Runner's World' Cover Layout where, usually, the text doesn't intrude on the bodies. I would have liked to have had Sammy's head over the header as they do, but unfortunately, he's a bit more solid and wider than the real cover models, as you discovered.
It's all good fun.

Yeah, good fun and nice to deviate from the norm. The header font is Stainless Cond Bold fyi. I do like how they put a small headline at the top of the page. To see heaps of mag covers I just use Mr Google - in this case, "runner's world magazine covers" and voila, 100's of them. I only saw a few with text on top layer. Cheers and keep the fun happening.
