I really like the colour and texture you have here but overall the image doesn't grab me. I think the shape on the right is distracting. Cropping to focus attention on the spanner and pulley (or whatever it is) might make it stronger.

Yes, you are right about the object on the right .... perhaps if it was blurred 'away' it may blend better ..... as is, it is competing with the spanner too much. The pulley was OOF in the shot, so it is still recognizable but not in your face.
Experimented using Perfect Effects Free 9 for texture and border as well as other effects in Elements 12 and LR.
This one (and other recent ones) are from our museum .... so can always go back and try another shot
